• How to Install LiquidSmooth 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM on I9300 Galaxy S3

    Undoubtedly, Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the world and similarly Galaxy S3 is the most admired smartphone of the date. The users of the said model are definitely the luckiest ones as the handset is the one to get frequent software updates. Earlier it received the 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update via CyanogenMod 10.1 custom ROM and now  the 4.2.2 LiquidSmooth Jelly Bean update has arrived for the device that is the latest version of the exhilarating operating system. The South Korean Giant is yet to release further official Jelly Bean after 4.1.2 however the users can manually download the latest update to make their Android experience more exciting.

    The key features of the update include customizable lock screen buttons and sliders, transparent navigation and status bar, Navigation Bar widgets, customizable quick setting panel, volume rocker music control, customizable battery and notification light and full rotation.

    This upgrade process is applicable for Galaxy S3 I9300 only; trying to install it on other devices might crash it. Verify device’s model number by going to Settings followed by about phone. The users are advised to create back up of their important data prior to the update; battery must be at least 80 percent charged to prevent it from dying during the installation process as it may permanently crash the device. Proper USB driver has to be downloaded and installed for the handset in the computer, make certain to enable the debugging mode in the phone by going to Settings followed by about phone then roll down to the bottom of the page and select the build number, tap the build number until the hidden developer option appears under settings. Tick the check Box for USB debugging mode in order to enable it.

    The handset must be rooted with CWM recovery, if the phone faces boot loop issues then act upon Wipe Cache Partition and Wipe Dalvik Cache before rebooting.

    Connect the device with computer via USB cable, copy both the downloaded files to phone’s root folder without extracting. Disconnect the cable and switch off the phone. Boot the phone to CWM recovery mode by pressing home, power and volume up keys together until Samsung logo appears. Take back up of the currently running ROM so that it can be restored in case the new ROM fails to function. Select backup and store for the same.

    Perform full data wipe by clicking wipe data> factory reset>Select Yes then wait until the action successfully finishes. Return to CWM menu and select Wipe Cache Partition and then get on the wipe Dalvik Cache underneath advanced menu.

    Select install Zip files from SD card then choose zip from the card then browse and select the downloaded zip file of liquid Jelly Bean. Confirm ROM installation. Once the installation is done repeat this step and this time select the Google apps Zip file. Once it is done revert to the main recovery menu and opt for reboot system now. The reboot will take some time.

    Once the reboot is done the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM is now successfully installed on Samsung Galaxy S3.
